Adult Learners’ Week is an annual campaign coordinated by Learning and Work Institute in partnership with Welsh Government.Now in over 55 countries worldwide, each year we see over 10,000 adults in Wales participating in Adult Learners’ Week activities.
History. Adult Learners' Week is an international festival of adult learning.It is a UNESCO initiative that was first celebrated in the United States in the late ’80s, where there was a move to create a broad celebration of adult learning by the American Association for the Advancement of Education (AAAE).. In 1990, governments met in Jomtien for the Education for All World conference. Festival of Learning is the biggest celebration of lifelong learning in England. Our mission is to highlight the benefits of learning, celebrate achievements of adults who have used learning to transform their lives, and to encourage everyone to embrace lifelong learning.
